Exploring Larger Photos
When I started exploring macro photography, I captured what I could see within the constraints of the lens. Sometimes, however, what interested me was larger than the frame of the lens.
Photoshop has a Panorama feature that allows me to merge more than one photograph. I’ve begun exploring how that feature can let me capture images that are larger than a single frame of the lens. In order to let you see the proportions of those photographs, I’ve put them on a gray background. Several of these photographs can be printed as large as 72″ x 18″.
You can see this approach in this gallery of an anemone; photographs with gray backgrounds in other galleries reflect this approach, too.
